40+ hours with Gimp and my mouse.
This will be the January cover of the CFM, which will be dimensionally different of course, but the section I'm using still represents the image well.
Overall I'm happy with it. Not as finished as it could be, but I like the look of it.
I may get the urge to fiddle with it some more later.

I see what you mean. It's got a basic look to it, but you still pulled it off. Got a steampunk story I'm going to submit. Also, how difficult is Gimp to learn and use?
